Agrivoltaics in Apulia: wheat, shade and bifacial panels

First results from the Tavoliere project: 22% less evaporation in the crop grown under the panels.

One year after start-up, the Tavoliere agrivoltaic project (Foggia, Italy) has released its first agronomic data, measured with the University of Foggia.

First-year results

  • −22% soil evaporation under the structures
  • Durum wheat yield on par with the control plot
  • Peak crop temperature 3.1 °C lower in July

Structures raised to 4.5 metres let farm machinery work as usual. The farmer keeps the harvest and earns a stable lease for 30 years.
